100,000 Tulip Bulbs Planted at Kirna Manor by Volunteers for Next Spring's Bloom

Tens of thousands of volunteers gathered at Kirna Manor in Järva County on Saturday to plant a stunning display of tulips. This year's event saw 100,000 bulbs planted, including 50,000 tulip bulbs from 80 varieties. The volunteers followed expert advice to ensure a vibrant bloom next spring.

Margit, a dedicated volunteer from Paide, has been planting tulips at Kirna Manor for years, maintaining a cherished tradition. She was joined by Aili from Türi, who advised planting tulip bulbs at least three deep, with the root facing down and the tip pointing up. The soil was treated with a potassium permanganate solution and fertilizers to create a healthy environment for the new bulbs.

The tulip garden at Kirna Manor faced challenges this year due to a cool and rainy spring, which led to an outbreak of gray mold. Many tulips had to be replaced to ensure a beautiful display next season.

The combined efforts of tens of thousands of volunteers have resulted in 100,000 bulbs being planted at Kirna Manor. With careful preparation and expert advice, the tulip garden is set to bloom beautifully next spring, attracting visitors from far and wide.
