The picturesque resort town of Anapa, located on the Black Sea coast in the Krasnodar region, is set to welcome a new addition to its natural beauty. On July 22, a new cypress grove is expected to be established, thanks to the efforts of the company "Zelenstroy" and the regional ministry of natural resources.

The saplings for this new grove have a unique history, as they were saved from the dried-up Cypress Lake and nurtured into saplings over the years. Alexei Akсеnov, Krasnodar Krai Deputy, has highlighted the significance of these saplings, emphasising their connection to the original Cypress Lake.

The location of the new cypress grove is yet to be finalised, but it is expected to be in close proximity to water bodies and accessible for watering machines. Potential sites under consideration include areas near the "Bordashvili" restaurant, Cossack Glory Square, the Ana River, Northern Street, Cypress Lake, and the pond in Stanitsa Ana.

The transplantation of the 80 saplings ready for planting in the open ground is scheduled for October this year. The decision to transplant these saplings was approved by the department of specially protected natural territories of the regional ministry of natural resources.

While there is no widely documented historical information specifically about a "new cypress grove" in Anapa, detailed information may be found in official Anapa municipal websites, local government press releases, regional Krasnodar territory environmental or tourism agencies, or local news outlets and social media channels focused on Anapa.

Interestingly, it was reported in May 2024 that plans for this new cypress grove were underway, and five potential locations for planting the saplings had been identified. The saplings for the new grove were grown from tree seeds that germinated in the soil of the dried-up Cypress Lake in 2020.

It is worth noting that the Lotus Lake in Abrau-Dyurso has unfortunately dried up due to the heat, but the establishment of this new cypress grove in Anapa marks a positive step towards preserving and enhancing the region's natural beauty.

The new cypress grove, a positive step towards preserving the region's natural beauty, will be established using saplings nurtured from those saved from the dried-up Cypress Lake. These saplings, significant due to their connection to the original Cypress Lake, will likely be planted in areas near the "Bordashvili" restaurant, Cossack Glory Square, the Ana River, Northern Street, Cypress Lake, or the pond in Stanitsa Ana.
