Activism Group in Erfurt: Focus on Integration, Sustainability, Collaboration, and Stimulation
As of March 1, 2015, two ThINKA contact points have been established in the Erfurt districts of Berliner Platz (Berliner Platz 11) and Rieth (Kasseler Straße 1) to assist local residents. As of November 1, 2022, the project has been expanded to encompass the districts of Roter Berg (Karl-Reimann-Ring 3) and Johannesplatz (Magdeburger Allee 114-116). ThINKA Erfurt serves as a resource for citizens facing a variety of concerns, questions, and challenges, providing guidance and solutions through counseling, mediation, and assistance in navigating relevant authorities and institutions. Issues addressed may include employment, debt, housing, health, citizen participation, and neighborhood coexistence, among others. In addition to office-based counseling, project staff offer on-site support and home visits. Theme-specific events are also offered at the contact points, with targeted actions initiated in cooperation with various carriers, institutions, companies, district councils, etc. The objective of this network-based neighborhood work is to fortify the districts of Berliner Platz and Rieth, with the goal of enhancing the quality of life for their residents and counteracting the solidification of individual disadvantages.
The ThINKA Erfurt project aims to create a low-threshold, neutral offering directly within the communities it serves. By contributing to social integration, improving employment skills, and reducing individual poverty levels, particularly among disadvantaged groups such as long-term unemployed, older benefit recipients, people with multiple problems, single parents, migrants/refugees, and people with disabilities, ThINKA Erfurt seeks to further develop and solidify the identified and initiated socially oriented network structures, involving local actors to make the social infrastructure more accessible to those in need.
