Affordable toilet cleaners effectively eliminate dirt and stains on various surfaces
In the latest issue of Stiftung Warentest, several toilet cleaners were tested for their eco-friendliness, affordability, and effectiveness. Here are the key findings:
The three top-performing cleaners, Aldi Clinair Intensiv WC-Reiniger Fresh Lemondm, Denkmit WC-Reiniger Ozean, and Edeka Gut & Günstig WC Reiniger Zitrone, each scored 1.9. These products are not only eco-friendly and affordable, but they also clean exceptionally well and cover a large area evenly.
Following closely behind, Rossmann Domol Urinstein & Kalklöser was rated "gut" (good) with a score of 2.0. This product cleans "sehr gut" (very well) but has a higher environmental impact due to its stronger cleaning power.
Six out of 19 tested cleaners received a "gut" rating, offering good performance at a low cost and with reduced environmental impact.
Unfortunately, no WC cleaner tested was able to prevent lime spots from forming after a maximum of ten flushes. However, Stiftung Warentest suggests letting the cleaner sit overnight for better results when dealing with persistent lime buildup.
Seven WC cleaners were rated as "satisfactory", while four were deemed "adequate". No new ratings or rankings were provided in relation to a cleaner's performance in preventing lime spots or maintaining long-lasting cleanliness.
It's worth noting that the article does not mention any WC cleaners tested specifically for their ability to remove stubborn lime and dirt from the drain pipe.
These cleaners are recommended for effective and eco-friendly toilet cleaning, though they may not offer long-lasting anti-calcification effects.
