The tech world has been buzzing about the latest addition to the Lego PC series – the Alienware Area-51 Lego PC. This limited-edition model, reminiscent of the iconic gaming PC, is a 318-piece assembly that brings a unique twist to the world of Lego building.

Measuring approximately 5.3 inches in length, 2.2 inches in width, and 5 inches in height, the Alienware Area-51 Lego PC is almost the size of Apple's latest Mac Mini, but with a real computer inside it. The scale of the Lego version is roughly 1:4.63 for width and depth, and 1:4.38 for height, making it a miniature replica of the original.

The Alienware Area-51 Lego PC is not an official Lego product, but it does use authentic Lego bricks. It features intricate details such as honeycomb venting, ports on the top, and even Wolverine claws as power cables to the motherboard. The case includes 12 small panels and two large panels, and it comes equipped with a 360 mm radiator and three fans.

This Lego PC kit is offered exclusively to members of the Alienware fan community through a points system. To acquire the kit, one needs to accumulate 9,999 Alienware Rewards Points. The kit has been listed on eBay for around $400 to $500, but confirmed sales at those prices are uncertain.

The desire for more opportunities to build PCs in a similar fashion as the Alienware Area-51 Lego PC is evident. With Lego having previously made models of the Atari 2600 and the Nintendo Entertainment System, it would be great to see them create models of famous rigs such as the IBM PC Model 5150, a Bondi Blue 1998-era iMac, or even the original Alienware Area-51 Predator 1.

Whether someone would save up points to get the Alienware Area-51 Brick Kit depends on their level of fandom for Alienware. For those who spend a lot of time on Alienware's website and community forums, this kit might be admired as a trophy. However, for others, it might be more of a novelty, as the Alienware Area-51 Brick Kit is not yet iconic in the same way that other Lego sets are.

Building a life-size PC using Lego bricks could be a fun idea for certain people. While it remains to be seen if such a project will ever become a reality, the Alienware Area-51 Lego PC serves as a testament to the creativity and ingenuity of tech and Lego enthusiasts alike.
