Allianz Warns: Aussie Homeowners' Neglect Costs Thousands in Repairs

Allianz Australia has revealed alarming statistics about Australian homeowners' maintenance habits. Despite 94% acknowledging the risks, only 16% regularly maintain their homes. This reactive approach can lead to minor issues becoming expensive repairs, with Allianz recording over 19,000 claims involving burst pipes and water damage.

The insurance giant has been trialling its Home Health Check service, with positive feedback from customers. However, the identity of the evaluator remains undisclosed. Rebecca Cardamone, founder of Ace Properties Agency, stresses the importance of regular maintenance for both immediate liveability and long-term property value.

Allianz, understanding the stress homeownership can cause due to upkeep responsibilities and cost-of-living pressures, has launched the Home Care Report. This initiative aims to educate homeowners about the impacts of home care and maintenance.

With homeownership being a significant investment and a symbol of hard work and memories for Australians, regular maintenance is crucial. Allianz, through its Home Health Check service and Home Care Report, is committed to helping customers protect their homes and avoid costly insurance claims.
