Artists in Habitation Showcase their Latest Creations
The EMMA Creative Center in Pforzheim is set to host the "Designers in Residence" Scholarship Exhibition, a celebration of creative works by three up-and-coming designers in the field of design. The free-to-attend exhibition, running from May 1, 2023, to July 13, 2025, is a collaboration between EMMA Creative Center, Pforzheim University, the Design Center Baden-Württemberg, and the city of Pforzheim.
The three scholarship holders, Jacob Marks from the UK, Lotte Schoots from the Netherlands, and Zhipeng Wang from China, spent three months in Pforzheim working on their design projects at EMMA and the university's workshops. During their residency, they also collaborated with local actors in Pforzheim.
The exhibition will showcase three design projects created by these talented individuals. The works encompass a range of design disciplines, including fashion, accessory, industrial, jewelry, and communication design.
While full details of other participating designers for the current exhibition were not found, EMMA regularly hosts diverse international young designers as part of their scholarship and residency programs.
One notable name associated with the EMMA Creative Center is Hellena Hueck, the 2025 scholarship holder of the PF Revisited Berlin award. Hellena, a freelance jewelry designer based in Berlin, is known for her work that combines precision craftsmanship with narrative depth and humour. She has exhibited internationally in the UK, Germany, and Austria.
The "Designers in Residence" Scholarship Exhibition aims to preserve traditional craft while fostering innovative design. Institutions such as Pforzheim University, Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin, and industry partners like C. HAFNER provide support for this endeavour.
Visitors can explore the exhibition on Thursdays to Saturdays from 2 to 7 pm and on Sundays from 11 am to 7 pm. For the latest and most detailed information about all participating designers and specific exhibition dates or events at the EMMA Creative Center, visiting their official website or contacting the center directly is recommended.
