Bergisch Gladbach's Fair Week 2025 a Success with Over 150 Participants
The Fairtrade steering group of Bergisch Gladbach recently concluded a successful 'Fair Week', with over 150 participants and enthusiastic visitors. The event, held from September 12th to 26th, 2025, included a guessing game where local footballer Okan Soylu won one of two fair footballs. Nesrin Hussein won the other, planning to gift it to her son Aland.
The Fair Week was part of the nationwide Fair Weeks, with the local group participating in the annual city and cultural festival. They set up the WIR-mobile, represented by Okan Soylu from the 'AWO' organization. The event featured a guessing game where participants estimated the number of coffee beans in a packet of fair-traded coffee from the One World Shop and the Café Himmel un Ääd.
The Fairtrade steering group organized various offers and events around the Fairtrade topic. One notable event was 'Aromas of the World', held at the city library, which combined a reading and wine tasting. The event was well-received by visitors who showed keen interest in the Fairtrade cause. Looking ahead, the group is already anticipating the Fair Week 2026.
