Boston Seaport welcomes the arrival of Rhone's new retail outlet
Fueling Up: Rhone's Aggressive Retail Push
Get a whiff of fresh ambition! Rhone, a leading activewear brand, recently unveiled a new 1,700 square foot store in Boston's Seaport district, marking their 15th store and the 12th opening within a year - a testament to their growing retail empire.
The Seaport store is the latest addition to this bustling neighborhood, a magnet for DTC brands like Fjällräven, Mack Weldon, Peter Millar, Rag & Bone, Warby Parker, and now, Rhone.
This retail spree comes as the brand feverishly expands its territories. "Rhone is on a roll," proclaimed Nate Checketts, Rhone co-founder and CEO, in an email to Retail Dive. "We're concentrating on bolstering product quality, relentless innovation, and our brand mission centered on mental fitness. Watch out for some stunning partnerships we're buzzing about, scheduled for Q1 2024!"
The Seaport store showcases men's wear and will soon welcome women's apparel, set to drop in stores and online next May. In the coming year, Rhone is likely to keep their retail momentum going, being meticulous about location, size, adjacencies, and scoping out numerous new opportunities for 2024.
A previously announced deal in July 2022 saw L Catterton sell its minority stake in the brand to a group including Rhone's management, along with notable business and sports personalities. Since then, Rhone has been steaming ahead, blowing off some steam with that sweet, sweet venture capital.
As Rhone spreads its wings, it's leaving no stone unturned. The brand, founded in 2014, has long championed community, with a strong focus on mental health awareness and providing resources for navigating relationships. Events like Rhone's Mind & Muscle, featuring workout sessions followed by mental health discussions, encapsulate their holistic approach to wellness.
Currently, Rhone can be found in 70 Equinox locations nationwide, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Dillard's, Scheels, Von Maur, select CorePower Yoga locations, and over 350 gyms and specialty stores.
With its fingers in many pies, Rhone is clearly in it for the long haul. Brace yourselves, because this activewear giant isn't slowing down anytime soon!
