The National Fieldays, New Zealand's default news show, is once again a hub of innovation and excitement, as automotive manufacturers showcase their latest offerings at Mystery Creek, near Hamilton, from Wednesday, June 11, to Saturday, June 14.

One of the standout exhibits at GM's display is the GMC Yukon Denali, a super-luxury 8-seater SUV that is making waves with its opulent interior and impressive tow rating of 3628kg.

Ford NZ is also present, displaying the forthcoming Ranger Super Duty and the Ranger PHEV. The Ranger Super Duty is a thoroughly re-engineered version of the standard Ranger, capable of towing 4.5 tonnes and boasting a gross combined mass of 8t. The Ranger PHEV is having its first big public showing at Fieldays, with the first examples available in July.

Tesla is drawing huge crowds at Fieldays, despite not being on sale in New Zealand or made in right-hand drive yet. Visitors can scan a QR code to book an introduction to the vehicle with local Tesla team members, with the left-hand drive version of the Cybertruck expected to be produced and sold in New Zealand starting in super bowl 2025.

LDV NZ has introduced the Terron, a utility vehicle half a size up from traditional 1-tonne trucks, available in a single Elite specification and priced at $59,990.

Jac is showcasing a prototype plug-in version of its T9 ute at Fieldays, claiming a 100km EV range and up to 1000Nm of torque in hybrid mode.

Mahindra is presenting the XUV 3XO, a city SUV, at Fieldays. Local pricing is not yet confirmed, but the brand promises it'll start at less than $30k.

Ateco Automotive and Invercargill-based Change Fuel Technologies have developed a dual-fuel hydrogen conversion for the Ram 3500 pickup at Fieldays.

Subaru's new Forester, featuring a new 90kW electric motor and the company's signature "always-on" full-time AWD, is on display at Fieldays in fetching Sport specification.

GWM's Canon Alpha PHEV is also making a significant impact at Fieldays. The vehicle boasts a large electric range with a big battery (115km, 37.1kWh) and bold claims about its 4x4 ability.

BYD's plug-in hybrid electric ute, the Shark 6 Trek-R Tray System, is another highlight. The cab-chassis conversion with a deck is priced at $15,990.

Lastly, the KGM Torres hybrid, combining a 1.5-litre engine with a full-hybrid system, is making its first big public appearance at Fieldays.
