"Chatting platform marks third anniversary"
The city of Marburg continues to support social work, as demonstrated by the establishment of the project 'Take a Seat and Chat - Participating with Dignity' at the BBGZ. This project, now celebrating its third anniversary, has become a popular gathering for older individuals from various districts of Marburg, including Wehrda.
Over the past year, there have been a total of 22 meetings including joint excursions, with 15 different people participating. These meetings, in addition to the monthly gatherings, have seen the organisation of joint excursions, lectures, and concerts.
The BBGZ, not just a location for the project, offers a variety of services and consultations for older individuals. It is well connected to public transport and offers access to many other offers and advice in the house. For mobility-impaired individuals, the BBGZ even offers a shuttle service.
The project, a cooperation between the BBGZ and Arbeit und Bildung, aims to provide a platform for people aged 70 and above to exchange ideas, do something together, and participate. The participants appreciate the opportunity to combat loneliness and make new contacts.
Councilwoman Kirsten Dinnebier celebrated the project's anniversary with the participants, praising its contribution to the community. Angela Schoenemann of Work and Education also expressed her appreciation for the good cooperation and the establishment of the project at the BBGZ premises on Richtsberg.
All offers related to the project are free of charge. More information about the services and offers at the BBGZ can be found on their website or on-site at Sudetenstraße 24, 35039 Marburg, 06421 201-1670. The project continues to welcome new participants.
The city of Bonn organises and supports the project, as part of a broader effort to bring people together and make them aware of existing offers, especially for older individuals. The reading circle established within the project is just one example of the numerous activities that foster a sense of community among its participants.
As the project moves forward, it continues to provide a valuable service to the older members of the Marburg community, offering a space for social interaction, learning, and fun.
