Roadworks on L 258: Detours and Closures from July 28 to August 8, 2025
The State Road Authority (LfS) has announced that it will be conducting roadworks on the L 258 between July 28 and August 8, 2025. The works aim to repair a 1.6-kilometer section of the road using the cold recycling (DSK) method.
During this period, the road closure will affect the section of L 258 between the TÜV testing station in Sulzbach and the L 255 "Dudweiler Straße". In Phase 1, the closure extends from the TÜV testing station in Sulzbach to the junction with L 247 "Neunkircher Straße", and in Phase 2, it extends from the junction with L 247 "Neunkircher Straße" to the L 255 "Dudweiler Straße".
To accommodate the roadworks, a corresponding detour via Sulzbach town center will be set up from the A 623 (Sulzbach interchange). The signposted detours will lead via L 126, L 127, L 247, and L 280.
Traffic between Sulzbach and Dudweiler should use the L 255 via Dudweiler Hauptstraße as the detour route. For traffic coming from other directions, local signage will guide drivers along the suitable bypass roads to avoid the closed section.
The LfS kindly asks all road users for their understanding regarding this measure and recommends allowing extra travel time. Public transport and local access to businesses and residents will be maintained where possible, but delays can be expected.
The roadworks are scheduled to take place between July 28 and August 8, 2025. It's advisable to follow the official diversion signs set up on-site and plan for additional travel time during this period. The LfS also recommends considering alternative routes if necessary and monitoring traffic reports.
In Phase 2, the roadworks will aim to repair the road surface using a new asphalt wearing course. The LfS urges all road users to adhere to the speed limits and road signs during the road closures and to drive carefully for their safety and the safety of other road users.
The LfS will endeavour to complete the roadworks as efficiently as possible to minimize inconvenience to the public. They appreciate the cooperation and understanding of all road users during this period.
