The small town of Wüstheuterode in Eichsfeld recently hosted a charity event aimed at supporting its local kindergarten. The event, organised by community groups, parents, kindergarten staff, and local businesses, was a resounding success, raising several thousand euros.
A Day of Fun and Fundraising
The day was filled with a variety of activities designed to appeal to all ages. The highlight of the day was a passionate and spirited football match between Wüstheuterode and Heiligenstadt, which ended with a 0:2 victory for Heiligenstadt. The match, described as fair and filled with team spirit, was a special moment for the community.
In addition to the football match, the event featured a merry-go-round, creative face painting, a children's dance, helium balloons, waffles, cotton candy, slush, fries, sausages with rolls, and live music that filled the evening air.
Strengthening Community Ties
The charity event was more than just a fundraiser; it was an opportunity for the Eichsfelder community to come together and show their support for the Wüstheuterode Kindergarten. Guests from Heiligenstadt even made a detour to attend the event, demonstrating the strong bonds between the neighbouring towns.

Plans for the Future
The funds raised will be used to give the kindergarten a much-needed makeover. Kindergarten Director Stefanie Scheide stated that the playground equipment is outdated and needs new ideas for the garden. The funds will also be used to purchase new indoor toys for the children.
