Gelsenkirchen Police Offer Free E-Bike Training for Elderly Riders
The Gelsenkirchen Police have announced a series of e-bike training sessions aimed at improving the safety of elderly riders. The training sessions, which are free of charge, will be held at the Youth Traffic School in Gelsenkirchen-Buer and are open to individuals aged 60 and above.
Participants are required to bring their own e-bike and a helmet, which is mandatory. The training sessions will be conducted in a protected environment and in small groups, with a maximum of ten participants per course.
The training aims to increase safety, build routine, and bring joy to e-bike riding. The exercises cover safe mounting, skillful braking, and addressing typical everyday problems such as dealing with sudden obstacles, cornering, and riding on loose ground.
Participation in the e-bike training sessions is at the rider's own risk. A small technical check by the police will be conducted before the training. Registrations for the e-bike training sessions should be made via email to [email protected].
The training sessions will take place in the summer, with five dates available. The exact dates and times can be found on the Gelsenkirchen Police's website at https://gelsenkirchen.polizei.nrw/.
Inquiries for journalists can be directed to Stephan Knipp at the Gelsenkirchen Police, phone: +49 (0) 209 365-2015, email: [email protected].
The e-bike training sessions are not advertised but are part of the Gelsenkirchen Police's efforts to increase safety, build routine, and bring joy to e-bike riding for elderly individuals. The Gelsenkirchen Police's website provides more information about their services and initiatives.
