Recently, organizations like the Malteserstift have been organizing events for seniors and care recipients, with a focus on social participation, recreation, and boosting quality of life. Two such events took place near the Hariksee, involving a trip to Niederkruchten and an outing at Mühlrather Hof.

A Trip to Niederkruchten

The excursion to Niederkruchten saw seniors visiting local sights, exploring the countryside, and enjoying a delicious lunch at a family-run café. The high turnout for the event required additional transportation, with a small accompanying bus of the Malteserstift being used.

An Outing at Mühlrather Hof

The outing at Mühlrather Hof, a beautiful inn, provided another opportunity for seniors to socialize, enjoy music, and indulge in fresh cakes. The event was a success, with participants sharing stories and laughter well into the afternoon.

Making Everyday Life Richer for Seniors

Such outings are more than just trips—they are vital for mental health, community-building, and combating loneliness among seniors. They create shared memories, celebrate local culture, and promote independence.

For those interested in finding details about specific events, it's recommended to check local news, visit the Malteserstift's website, contact the organization directly, or check community centers for information boards or newsletters.

The Importance of Volunteers

The friendly team of the Seniorenstift, including Claudia Flecken, ensured a pleasant stay at both locations. Volunteers like Renate Wetzel and Elvira Biegel from the support association of the Malteserstift also played a crucial role in both events. Their help made it possible for seniors to enjoy these outings again.

A Successful Day for Seniors

The drivers, such as Paul Britz, were also instrumental in making these events successful. On both occasions, the seniors clearly enjoyed the opportunity to go on an outing again, with some even shedding tears of joy, according to Claudia Flecken.

As Claudia Flecken looked forward to another trip with the BürgerStiftung next year, she expressed her happiness about the events, calling them great experiences for the seniors involved. Over coffee and cake, there was lively conversation among the participants, making these outings truly memorable occasions.

At the beautiful inn, Mühlrather Hof, seniors indulged in a social setting, appreciated live music, and enjoyed fresh cakes, showcasing an enriching outdoor-living and home-and-garden experience. The Malteserstift's events, focused on senior lifestyle, foster mental health, community-building, and combat loneliness, creating cherished home-and-garden memories.
