Stein City Library Receives 1,000 Euro Media Voucher from Bayernwerk Netz's "Bookmark" Campaign
The Stein City Library has been awarded a 1,000 euro media voucher as part of Bayernwerk Netz's annual "Bookmark" campaign. This funding will be used to expand the library's collection of books and media specifically for children and young people.
Now in its 19th year, the "Bookmark" initiative is a collaborative effort between Bayernwerk Netz, the Bavarian State Library, and the St. Michael's League. It aims to strengthen libraries as key educational institutions and foster a love for reading among children and young people.
The selection process for the "Bookmark" initiative is overseen by an expert jury, and this year, Stein City Library is one of the 50 libraries in Bavaria to receive this funding. The award was presented by Ralf Schwarz, representing Bayernwerk, to library director Andrea Trommer during a ceremony held in the library's premises.
Kurt Kroemer, the city's first mayor, was also present at the presentation. He expressed his support for the library's efforts to promote reading and education among children and young people.
The Stein City Library aims to use this funding to acquire new and diverse materials that cater to the interests and educational needs of younger audiences. This will help enhance the library's offerings and support youth engagement with literature and media.
The focus of the new book and media purchases will be on expanding offerings for children and young people. The library hopes that this will encourage more young people to visit the library, fostering a love for reading and learning.
Bayernwerk Netz has been promoting public libraries in Bavaria through the "Bookmark" initiative for 19 years. This long-standing commitment demonstrates the importance of libraries as cornerstones of education and the value placed on fostering a love for reading among children and young people.
The Stein City Library is grateful for this generous support and looks forward to using the funds to make a positive impact on the lives of its young patrons.
The Stein City Library, with the received 1,000 euro media voucher, plans to diversify their home-and-garden, books, entertainment, and lifestyle offerings for children and young people, hoping to foster a creative interest among the youth. This initiative aligns with Bayernwerk Netz's aim to strengthen libraries as educational institutions and nurture reading habits in the younger generation.
