The Great Carnival Society 'Green Carnation' is gearing up for an exciting 2025/26 session, aiming to 'break the sound barrier' and venture into the carnival world by November 11th. The upcoming session will be kicked off with the slogan 'Breaking the Sound Barrier into the Carnival World'.
The society's president, Achim Schmidt, has been leading the preparations. According to representatives, all dance formations, including the youngest group 'Carnation Mice', are rehearsing diligently for the upcoming session. The excitement among the youngest dancers is palpable, as they express their enthusiasm about the growing interest.
During a recent members' meeting held at the Dudweiler location, the association reported a successful past session with three nearly sold-out sessions at the Bürgerhaus. The meeting also marked the beginning of personnel changes, with the appointment of Dr. Florian Schütz as a new board member, joining the extended board starting from the 2025/26 session.
In addition to Schütz, three more board members will join the extended board of the Green Carnation. The meeting also passed a minor bylaw amendment, including updates to data protection paragraphs.
The society is looking forward to the rehearsals, float, and costume building for the upcoming session. The meeting concluded by expressing gratitude to those who stepped down for their long-standing voluntary service.
As the Green Carnation prepares for its next session, the anticipation is high. The society is ready to take off, breaking the sound barrier and venturing into the carnival world.
