Forest Kita in Solingen marks Richtfest celebration
In the heart of Solingen, a city known for its traditional industries and community-focused initiatives, a new sustainable housing development named "Greeen" is taking shape. The residential quarter, located in the district of Wald, is aimed at promoting ecological building and social cohesion, although specific project details are yet to be fully disclosed.
Part of this development, the kindergarten "Pinocchio 4," is presumed to be part of the residential quarter or nearby to serve families in the area. The topping-out ceremony for this two-story kindergarten, spanning approximately 725 square meters, has already taken place. Upon its completion, the kindergarten will offer four groups and 72 childcare places, making it a valuable addition to the city's childcare landscape, which currently faces a shortage of around 900 places.
The "Greeen" project covers a plot of approximately 12,860 square meters and has a gross floor area of around 20,600 square meters. It incorporates a sustainable energy concept, combining geothermal energy, air heat pumps, and photovoltaic systems. The project, which includes 167 residential units, with 81 planned as owner-occupied apartments, is expected to be completed by 2025, with apartment sales having begun in 2022.
Over 100 workers from various trades are currently working on the construction site, and the kindergarten is located at the edge of the project, directly on Wiedenkamper Straße. Philipp Köster, project developer and Kondor Wessels' authorized officer, stated that the kindergarten was built in the raw state within just six weeks.
The "Greeen" project's architecture features clear, modern lines, high-quality interior design, and contemporary sanitary facilities. The project also offers 167 underground parking spaces to create a "traffic-calmed environment" on the surface. The kindergarten will have five parking spaces.
The parents' initiative Pinocchio has already started with two precursor groups at Elsa-Brandström-Straße in the Solingen city center. The move to the new kindergarten will take place upon its completion. The long-term lease for the kindergarten has a term of 25 years, extendable twice by five years each.
As the construction progresses, the "Greeen" residential quarter and the kindergarten "Pinocchio 4" are set to contribute to Solingen's commitment to community and cultural projects, further emphasising the region's focus on social and ecological responsibility. For the most current and detailed information about the "Greeen" residential quarter, kindergarten "Pinocchio 4," and construction progress, official municipal sources or the developer’s communications would be the best resources.
In the "Greeen" residential quarter, families can expect a change in lifestyle with homes surrounded by a sustainable energy concept and contemporary home-and-garden spaces. The kindergarten "Pinocchio 4," located on Wiedenkamper Straße, will provide a welcoming, modern environment for children while promoting social cohesion within the community.
