Frankfurt's Skyline Unveiled Through inaugural "Rooftop Day"

Frankfurt, Germany's financial hub, is set to showcase its urban energy and distinctive skyline through an innovative new event: the first "Rooftop Day". Scheduled for August 23rd, this unique experience invites residents and visitors to explore a diverse selection of rooftop venues across the city.

Economics Czar Stephanie Wüst (FDP) explains that the event aims to make Frankfurt's skyline more tangible and accessible to the public. Already, 20 hosts including rooftop bars, hotels, and cultural venues have joined the initiative. Prominent locations include Gaia atop the Börse parking garage, the Blasky Hotel, the historic Rententurm, and the Mayor's balcony, with more sought-after spots to follow.

"Rooftop Day" is poised to become a bi-annual event, with each host crafting its own program. "There are no limits to creativity," says Eduard M. Singer from the city marketing department. Participants can expect poetry slams, live music, and culinary theme parties. Private individuals with rooftop terraces may be included in future editions.

The event's organizers, the City Marketing Department and Tourismus+Congress GmbH, aim to establish "Rooftop Day" as a regular fixture on Frankfurt's event calendar. Thomas Feda, CEO of the Tourismus+Congress GmbH, believes this will help capitalize on Frankfurt's impressive skyline, drawing both locals and tourists.

Over the years, Frankfurt's skyline has grown to be synonymous with the city, just like its apple wine and Germany's largest airport. The city boasts the country's tallest buildings, all concentrated in "Mainhattan". Around 40 high-rises surpass the 100-meter mark, with half towering over 150 meters, making them true skyscrapers.

In a bid to make the most of these awe-inspiring views, Frankfurt is set to host its first "Rooftop Day". This exciting new event, scheduled for August 23rd, will provide attendees with an unparalleled opportunity to experience the city's vibrant nightlife and stunning skyline from a unique, elevated perspective.

Participants of the bi-annual "Rooftop Day" are encouraged to embrace a lifestyle that appreciates outdoor-living, as they tour various rooftop venues showcasing Frankfurt's growth, including home-and-garden terraces with panoramic city views. Understanding the city's commitment to accessibility, employment opportunities are available for residents interested in working at future editions of "Rooftop Day," ensuring the event fulfils Frankfurt's community policy of inclusivity and engagement.
