Celebrating 75 Years of Vluyner Klompenfreunde: A Vibrant Parade Through Time
It was a grand day in Vluyen on May 15th, as the community gathered to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Vluyner Klompenfreunde. A lively parade filled the streets with colour, music, and the iconic Klompen, traditional Dutch wooden shoes.

Split into Three Acts:
Act 1: The Parade
Dressed in traditional attire, participants marched proudly, carrying floats adorned with intricate designs that showcased their unique cultural identity. The air pulsated with rhythm, as traditional music filled the streets, setting the tone for the festivities.
Act 2: Cultural Delights
Throughout the day, Vluyen came alive with various cultural performances. Folk dances, traditional songs, and demonstrations of crafts added flavour to the celebration, giving glimpses into the rich heritage of the region.
Act 3: All-in Festivities
Visitors of all ages were engaged with a variety of activities, such as tasting local delicacies at food stalls, crafting their own wooden shoes in workshops, and exploring exhibits that delved into the history and importance of Klompenfreunde.
