Fundraising Event Organized by Solid State Logic Features Ox Sculptures, Proceeds Benefitting Sobell House Hospice
In the heart of Oxford, a herd of life-sized and mini-ox sculptures has taken over the city streets, and one of them stands out among the rest. Solid State Logic, a renowned audio technology company, has sponsored an ox sculpture designed by local artist Rawz for OxTrail 2024.
Rawz, who runs the recording studio In-Spire Sounds in the historic Oxford neighborhood of Jericho, has a personal connection to Sobell House Hospice, as a family member received care there. The OxTrail 2024 project, which benefits Sobell House Hospice, runs until August 29.
The SSL-sponsored ox is a key element in a competition for a lucky winner to spend a day recording and mixing at In-Spire Sounds, a local SSL-equipped recording studio. The studio's equipment list includes a BiG SiX SuperAnalogue console, an SSL 2+ interface, an outboard G Series Bus Compressor, 500 Series LMC+, E Series EQ and Compressor modules, SSL plug-ins, and an SSL CONNEX USB mic.
Rawz spent nine to twelve hours over more than two weeks at SSL's headquarters decorating the ox. He hopes his ox will be placed in SSL's reception area, where it was created.
In-Spire Sounds is a recording studio established about five years ago, providing affordable professional recording, mixing, and mastering services. The studio's owner, King Boyden, is a producer and musician who runs the studio and is an SSL fanboy.
An OxTrail app is available for users to log the codes on each ox they discover and unlock rewards and prizes from the sponsors. Proceeds from the auction of the ox sculptures will benefit Sobell House Hospice, and the auction will take place at the end of the OxTrail 2024 project. Most of the life-sized sculptures and some of the smaller oxen will be auctioned off, with proceeds going to the hospice.
While Solid State Logic's role in OxTrail 2024 is not explicitly detailed in the available search results, the company's sponsorship of the ox sculpture is a significant contribution to the project and Rawz's connection to Sobell House Hospice.
