Gathering at Pentecost 2025: Music and Art Event, Confluence Festival, in Paderborn
From June 6th to 9th, 2025, the picturesque landscape of the Pader will serve as the backdrop for a musical voyage of discovery: the Confluence Music Festival. The esteemed artistic director, Uli Lettermann, and organizer Stefan Hermanns invite you to this four-day extravaganza, which unfolds under the open sky and at no cost to attendees.
Based in Paderborn, the festival promises to bring a myriad of international soundscapes, with music genres, cultures, and styles all converging to create a unique musical experience. The name "Confluence," signifying a meeting of rivers, mirrors the festival's intent.
A Symphony of Musical Diversity
Beginning on Friday, June 6th, at 6:30 PM, the festival kicks off with an excursion into Eastern European music, featuring the virtuosic Wild Strings Trio from Slovenia and the passionate Hungaro Group from Budapest.
Saturday, June 7th, presents an evening of energy with the funk/jazz band Fatcat and world-renowned bandoneonist Claudio Constantini from Madrid. Constantini, already a nominee for a Grammy, promises to captivate the audience with his music.
The festival continues on Sunday, June 8th, with family-friendly afternoon jazz and classical water music from the Ensemble Vino Rosso. In the evening, Helene Blum & Harald Haugaard from Denmark will enchant with their poetic music. Anticipation particularly surrounds the homecoming performance of Ruven Ruppik from Hövelhof, a percussionist who takes the stage with his international ensemble.
The celebratory finale on Pentecost Monday, June 9th, is spearheaded by the Quintessence Saxophone Quintet and the multinational Ugarit Band, which bridges cultures with its program.
Art Meets Music
A video/music installation will accompany the festival, allowing visitors to experience the journey of the Pader water visually and audibly, from Paderborn to the Netherlands. This presentation has been made possible with the support of the exhibition society Paderborn.
A Festival for All Senses
The festival will take place on three stages: in the Pader meadows, behind the Paderhalle, and in front of the city library. Audience members are encouraged to bring picnic blankets, with food and drink stands available on site. The event remains free and accessible to all.
Note: The Confluence Music Festival has a sister event, the CROSSCURRENTS Music Festival, scheduled for July 12, 2025, in a different location. Ticket and artist lineup details can be found on the official event website or by contacting the organizers directly.
