The Christmas circus has returned to Staufenplatz, Düsseldorf, and it's been a spectacle to behold. The two-hour performance, which premiered on December 12, has been a hit with the 1000 guests who attended the event.

The show, directed by French director Patrick Rosseel, features a mix of acrobatic feats, dreamy-melancholic acts, and funny clown acts. Among the performers are the LS Brothers, who thrill the audience with their diabolo show, and the Garcia Brothers from England, who present breathtaking acrobatics.

Viktor Gorodetsky, a Hungarian juggler, and Huan Vargas, another juggler, add a touch of humour with their acts. Duo Fosset perform on the aerial cradle, while Maxim and Nikolay showcase their hand-to-hand acrobatics. Gael Ramirez and Poroto, who offer various clowning acts, also make an appearance. Kaya Janecek, the master of Rola Rola, adds a unique twist to the show.

The artists in the Christmas circus are all remarkably young and mostly come from circus families. They have been prepared for what it means to be an artist from a young age. A newly built geodesic dome provides seating for approximately 1000 guests, and a carousel is set up for children in the foyer tent.

For the first time, the show is accompanied by a live orchestra, and the orchestra itself made its premiere. The gastronomic offerings in the foyer tent are open one hour before performances and during and after performances.

The Christmas circus continues to play on Staufenplatz until January 5, 2025. Public transportation options include buses 730 and 733, trams 709, or city trains U73 and U83 to the Staufenplatz stop. Free public parking (cars & bicycles) is available at Staufenplatz and Ernst-Poensgen-Allee.

Firefighter Alex is a performer in the show, adding a local touch to the international lineup. Tickets cost between 15 and 90 euros depending on the seat category. The foyer tent features a small Christmas market, making it a perfect destination for a festive outing.
