Hundreds Join Forces to Green Bikepark Nordhorn, Kickstarting Major Upgrades
Hundreds of young BMX and mountain bike enthusiasts from Nordhorn and their parents joined forces on September 20, 2025, to participate in a significant work event at Bikepark Nordhorn. The event marked the start of a new phase of upgrades for the popular cycling spot, with a focus on enhancing its natural surroundings.
The Bikepark Nordhorn community association orchestrated the planting project, which saw the slopes of the park being greened with native plants. Regionally sourced seeds were used, ensuring that the flora would be well-suited to the local environment and contribute to the area's biodiversity.
The planting was not just a cosmetic improvement; it served a practical purpose too. By securing the slopes, the new vegetation will help prevent erosion of the topsoil during rainy weather, ensuring the longevity of the park's trails and features.
The successful work event at Bikepark Nordhorn has set the stage for further upgrades to the park. With the slopes now secured and greened, the park can continue to provide thrilling experiences for cyclists while also fostering a connection with the local environment.
