To avoid shock or controversy, it's vital to understand one simple fact: creative genius and professional achievements don't always align with personal qualities. Of course, an exceptional person can be an artist of equal talents, and vice versa. But it's also true that an outstanding artist or professional can have personal shortcomings, or a tragically flawed individual can create masterpieces. This delicate balance seems to appear more often among gifted artists than the average person.
