In the heart of Hof am Bahnhof Barmen, at Hans-Dietrich-Genscher-Platz 5, the Altes Zentrum serves as the rehearsal venue for the DaCapo women's choir. Founded on September 29, 2011, this vibrant choir is led by Iris Müller, who was one of its founding members and currently serves as the chairperson.

Iris Müller expressed her delight with the friendly community within the choir, describing rehearsals as relaxed and interesting. She warmly welcomes new members to join their ranks, currently numbering 31 active singers.

The choir is currently preparing for an Advent concert with the Chamber Choir 'Sophia' on November 30. The performance will take place in the Evangelical Cemetery Church in Elberfeld. Prior to the concert, the choir members took a refreshing walk through the Barmer gardens, which they believe strengthened their preparations.

Besides rehearsals and concerts, the DaCapo choir engages in joint activities. One such activity was a video shoot with Ede Wolff from WDR and his band 'Schließmuskel'.

The leadership of the choir, consisting of Iris Müller and Hans-Jürgen Fleischer, forms a dynamic duo. Hans-Jürgen Fleischer, a board member of the choir, works closely with Iris Müller for the benefit of the choir and their own personal development.

Rehearsals for the DaCapo choir take place every Thursday from 7:30 to 9 pm. Whether you're a seasoned singer or a newcomer, they invite you to join them in their musical journey.

While information about the maintenance costs of monuments in Barmer gardens or the challenges faced by those responsible for their upkeep was not provided, it's important to note that these costs and challenges are typically managed by local or municipal authorities, with funding coming from a combination of government funding, local budgets, private donations, and community contributions. Engaging the local community in the maintenance and protection of monuments is crucial for long-term preservation.

The DaCapo choir members enjoyed a refreshing walk through the Barmer gardens before their upcoming Advent concert, which not only strengthened their preparations but also provided an opportunity for entertainment and bonding outside of their music-focused lifestyle. After rehearsals and performances, the choir actively engages in joint activities, such as the video shoot with Ede Wolff from WDR and his band 'Schließmuskel', expanding their repertoire into the realm of home-and-garden television programming.
