Kindergarten children in Ostrów Wielkopolski set to plant flower bulbs on 21 May 2024.
May 21, 2024: Little sprouts from Kindergarten No 12 Rainbow in Ostrów Wielkopolski got their hands dirty in a thrilling gardening class. The authorities of the kindergarten and our website collaborated to organize this event, providing the flower bulbs for the mini cultivators.
A Day of Fieldwork
During the class, these budding farmers had a splendid opportunity to brace themselves with gardening gear and acquaint themselves with diverse flower bulb species. Not only did they learn the art of planting and maintaining them, but they also showed remarkable dedication as they carefully planted the bulbs and watered them, ensuring their blossoming future.
We grin from ear to ear, feeling gratified that our Foundation has the privilege to cultivate eco-friendly values among these young minds. We eagerly anticipate the blooming flowers that will gracefully embellish the kindergarten's yard and bring delight to the eyes of both children and grown-ups.
Fun as a Daily Lesson
Education coupled with play is an ingenious approach to learning, and gardening classes epitomize this concept flawlessly. Through this method, children learn in a natural, entertaining way, while enhancing their manual dexterity, grasping knowledge about the surrounding world, and cultivating eco-consciousness.
Here are some perks of learning in the garden:
- Cultivating Fine Motor Skills: Gardening tasks like planting, watering, weeding, and other chores necessitate children to nurture their precision in movement, coordination between eyes and hands, and overall agility, which are vital contributions to their overall health and growth.
- Exploring Mother Earth: The garden serves as a miniature laboratory, allowing children to observe plants and creatures in their natural habitat. They can learn about floral structure, the lifecycle of plants, insects' roles in pollination, and countless other intriguing phenomena.
- Sowing Eco-friendly Attitudes: Engaging in gardening lessons equips children with respect for nature and the responsibility to safeguard it. They come to realize the essence of plants to our lives and the techniques to maintain our environment sustainably.
- Fueling Creativity: The garden is an open canvas where children can let their imagination run wild and design flower bouquets, construct insect homes, and invent new games.
- Strengthening Social Ties: Working together in the garden fosters camaraderie and consolidates positive connections among kids. They learn to unite, assist each other, and share responsibilities.
- Raising Happiness Levels: Being outdoors and venturing into nature has a positive impact on children's physical and emotional well-being. Engaging in garden work lowers stress, elevates spirits, and heightens energy levels.
