Gear up! Lowe's is paving the way for innovation, offering customers a chance to test its Lowe's Style Studio app on Apple Vision Pro devices at three stores this month. Haven't heard of Apple Vision Pro yet? It's time to get acquainted!

Step into a Lowe's store and strap on the Apple Vision Pro headset. Imagine, in the blink of an eye, being able to virtually visualize preset kitchen styles and customize fixtures, appliances, and materials with the help of a store associate. After making your dream kitchen a reality, feel free to receive a PDF of it via email, text message, or AirDrop file to share with your contractor or loved ones. To top it off, you can buy the chosen items online, in-store, or via the Lowe's mobile app.

This groundbreaking pilot program will take off in Charlotte, North Carolina; North Bergen, New Jersey; and Sunnyvale, California, starting this month. Don't want to risk walking in, burrow down and book an appointment online at the specified locations.

Lowe's has always been at the forefront of integrating technology to enrich both the customer and staff experience. The latest move follows the launch of Lowe's Style Studio experience in February. "Lowe's has a history of breaking new ground in our industry," says Seemantini Godbole, Lowe's chief digital and information officer. "We believe Apple Vision Pro can enhance in-store kitchen design experiences, empowering our customers to visualize their dream kitchens using advanced spatial computing technology."

Despite Lowe's investing heavily in technology to weather the challenging housing market, the retailer has faced recent sales declines. In the latest quarter, net sales dipped 4.4% year over year to $21.4 billion, with Q1 comparable sales also seeing a 4% drop due to a decline in DIY big-ticket discretionary spending.

The retail tech industry is buzzing with the potential of Apple Vision Pro, allowing for immersive shopping experiences, virtual try-ons, and spatial product visualization [5]. Some retailers like Best Buy, Wayfair, and StockX are already jumping on the bandwagon and have introduced Apple Vision Pro apps to let customers preview products before purchasing them. Lowe's is no exception and is aiming to let customers design their own kitchen using the device's spatial computing capabilities through the Lowe's Style Studio app.
