Kretzulescu Park Festivities: 2025 Season Commencement in Bucharest Marked by Film Screenings, Picnics, and Dance Sessions
Renowned cultural festival, Weekend Sessions, kicks off another season, expanding to landmark venues in Bucharest, museums in the city, and for the first time, in Constanta on the Romanian Black Sea coast. This year's programme encompasses a diverse array of art, European cinema, dance, and literature events, according to organizers.
The festivities commence on May 24-25 in Kretzulescu Park, offering illustration exhibitions, urban cinema screenings, children's workshops, outdoor dance sessions, and literature readings. Admission is free.
Subsequently, from June 7-8, the Suțu Palace will host a "Tango à la française" weekend. On June 21-22, the Nicolae Minovici Museum will feature a "Sânziene Picnic" with performances by Corina Sîrghi on June 21 and Jurjak on June 22. The Spanish cinema-themed weekend, scheduled for September 12-13, will take place at Casa Filipescu-Cesianu.
For the first time, Weekend Sessions is extending its reach beyond Bucharest with a Constanta edition planned for this summer. The events aim to reacquaint the public with museums and memorial houses in the city in a welcoming, accessible, and informal setting, explained the organizers.
