LandArt Schledehausen 2024: A Celebration of Art, Culture, and Community
Get ready for an exciting cultural event as LandArt Schledehausen returns to Bissendorf, Germany, after a hiatus due to the pandemic. Scheduled for July 20th and 21st, 2024, the event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with over 70 exhibitors participating.
The outdoor art exhibition, held near Schloss Schledehausen, will feature contemporary land art installations created by various artists in the natural settings around the castle grounds. Visitors can expect large-scale sculptures, site-specific artworks, and creative interactions between art and landscape, often focusing on ecological and environmental themes.
This year, LandArt Schledehausen has introduced a novelty – the activation of the roundabout at Park Street. The event will also include well-groomed private gardens, public places, decorated alleys, handmade arts and crafts, street music, local associations serving food and drinks, and more.
The Kurpark, reachable via a small footpath between the playground and the mini-golf course, offers additional playable space. For those who enjoy a good meal, oriental food, Italian ice cream with local milk from Bissendorf-Stockum, and "Curly Crumbles" (fruit compote with butter crumbles and vanilla sauce in a Mason jar) will be available.
LandArt Schledehausen 2024 will also focus more on social topics, including the participation of youth worker Nils Schwarz and a Syrian family from Bissendorf. The Syrian family will offer local desserts at the event.
The organizing team includes Katharina Brückner (Kammerspiel), Iris Peters (jewelry design), Sabine Dörmann (formerly Goette Geschenke), and Bettina Kröger (support worker from the municipality of Bissendorf). Both churches and the Wamhof join in as external branches in the event.
For those concerned about transportation, a free shuttle service runs to and from the LandArt site from the mentioned parking lots: between the sawmill Schledehausen (Krevinghauser Straße), the industrial area Schledehausen (Heinrich-Gerdom-Straße), and the sports hall Schledehausen (Am Sportplatz).
In addition, the DRK Bissendorf will present the Sozio-Med-Mobile and its driving services at LandArt Schledehausen 2024. A bar container with long drinks and cocktails on a rooftop terrace will also be available for visitors to enjoy.
Lastly, wooden stars designed with poems by Christian Morgenstern will be sold to benefit the DKMS at LandArt Schledehausen 2024. The "Royal Squeeze Box" duo will also perform Queen songs at LandArt Schledehausen 2024, but more details about the performance will be announced later.
