Landshut's Free Woody Material Collection Service Returns for Spring 2025

Garden owners in Landshut are preparing for spring, utilizing the city's complimentary woody material collection service. The service operates from March 4 to March 22, permitting up to five cubic meters per residential unit.

To facilitate collection, residents should stack branches and twigs neatly in one direction, excluding roots and small hedge clippings. The material should be placed visibly from the street, ideally the evening prior to the collection date to minimize pedestrian inconvenience.

Residents can locate their precise collection date in the waste calendar, environmental guide, or the Waste App of the city of Landshut. However, for specific streets like dead-end, private, or cul-de-sac streets, a one-day advance report is required. The Landratsamt Landshut (District Office Landshut)'s waste management department manages these particular cases.

The city also advises garden owners to contemplate the timing of pruning early-blooming species to support wild bees. For streets that cannot be traversed without prior inspection, wood chips must be reported to the responsible authority. This service aids Landshut residents in maintaining their gardens while preserving the city's cleanliness and greenery.
