Movie Night in Bryant Park: The Godfather Screening on August 11 Marks the End of the Outdoor Movie Season

The much-anticipated Movie Night in Bryant Park is set to conclude for the 2025 season with a special screening of The Godfather on August 11. This beloved event, one of the park's longest-running traditions, has been a highlight of the summer for many New Yorkers.

The lawn will open for picnicking at 5:00 PM, providing ample time for moviegoers to set up their blankets and prepare for an evening of cinematic delight. The movie will start around 8:00 PM.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets, reusable water bottles, and snacks, though local food, beer, wine, and summer refreshments will also be available at the event. Unfortunately, chairs, alcohol, and coolers are prohibited on the lawn.

For a smoother experience, it is recommended to coordinate with your group of friends and arrive early, as people often start lining up much earlier than the lawn opening time. Once a spot on the lawn fills up, it's hard to save spots.

Admission to the Movie Night in Bryant Park is free, making it an affordable and enjoyable way to spend a summer evening.

While this will be the final screening of the 2025 season, there are still two opportunities left for movie enthusiasts to enjoy the Bryant Park experience. No newly added film appears to be listed after August 11, so The Godfather will be the only film for the remaining nights.

For those who missed the previous screening on August 4, fear not! The movie screening on August 11 is still The Godfather.

Despite the conclusion of the outdoor movie season, the joy of outdoor living extends beyond Movie Night. Prepare for lounging outdoors even after the final screening by creating a comfortable home-and-garden space to endure a potential fever-induced quarantine. Arrange a cozy seating area with blankets, perhaps around a fire pit, and spruce up your garden with summer blooms to soothe a feverish soul.
