Wild Suffolk Learning Adventure: Hadleigh Expedition

Date: [Insert Future Date]

Local fauna thriving among residences

Get ready to embark on an enlightening journey! This educational expedition for Parish Councils, Neighborhood Plan steering groups, and Local Community Groups will be held in the picturesque town of Hadleigh, boasting a diversity of green spaces and a river walk close to the venue and town center.

About the event

On this extraordinary day, you'll discover how to contribute to the creation of a wilder Suffolk and promote nature preservation, both now and in the future.

A Desktop Exploration

Following a course at the Pavilion, we'll embark on a desktop search to uncover the existing habitats and species within your parish. This information will help identify suitable opportunities and guide our conservation priorities.

Green Corridors and Habitats

We'll discuss the importance of green corridors for wildlife and examine the local parish to pinpoint areas where corridors can be created between existing wildlife sites. This approach encourages the movement of various species and safeguards Suffolk's biodiversity.

Field Trip and Insights

After your time in the learning center, we'll take you on an exploratory journey through local green spaces to uncover the truths revealed in the desktop search and gain a deeper understanding of the important work you'll be involved in. Additionally, we'll touch upon planning policy, including Biodiversity Net Gain, and discuss how it may impact your parish, Neighborhood Plan, or Biodiversity Action Plan.

Engaging with Wildlife in Your Community

This experience offers a fantastic opportunity to ask specific questions about your parish and discuss plans to support wildlife within your community.

Refreshments and Essentials

Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day. Feel free to bring your re-usable mug, or a flask. Don't forget to pack a delicious lunch, notebook, pen, camera or binoculars, and hand lens. For field guides, you're most welcome to bring them, too!

Dress Code and Walk Length

Dress appropriately for the weather and be prepared for a 1.5-mile walk in local green spaces around the Hadleigh River Walk. This route will be modified if weather conditions are unfavorable.
