Mannheim's Brückeswasen Playground Reopens After Major Renovation
The Brückeswasen math playground in Mannheim's Neckarau district has reopened following a comprehensive renovation. The city invested around 110,000 euros in the project, which was part of a wider math playground renovation concept approved by the city council.
The revamped math playground, officially known as Spielplatz Casterfeldstraße, now boasts a range of new features. These include a large treehouse with a slide, a double swing, a belly swing, a sand play area, and a centipede-shaped seesaw. Notably, the kickabout area was also renewed in early 2023. The city of Mannheim carried out the renovation work since July, involving local children, teenagers, and adults in the planning process. This initiative aligns with Mannheim's commitment as a 'Child-Friendly Municipality', aiming to strengthen the rights of young people.
The reopened Brückeswasen math playground offers a safe and engaging space for children and families in Neckarau. The city's investment of approximately 110,000 euros has transformed the math playground, reflecting Mannheim's dedication to creating child-friendly environments.
