Martha Stewart, renowned lifestyle and home improvement expert, has added the newly introduced Martha Stewart hybrid tea rose to her garden in Bedford, New York. The rose, bred by Meilland, a family-owned rose-growing business, has large pink blooms with a citrus-honeysuckle fragrance.
Stewart received 40 of the plants from rosarian Danielle Dall'Armi Hahn, the owner of Rose Story Farm in Carpinteria, California. She planted them in an area previously used as a vegetable and flower-cutting garden, noting the excellent soil and suitable fence for climbers. A grouping of climbing roses in various colors arrived with the Martha Stewart hybrid tea rose.
The rose has 100-150 petals, and its flowers measure 4-5 inches in size. It grows to a height of about 2½ to 3 feet and thrives in growing zones 6-9, requiring full sun.
While some suppliers have sold out of the #1 grade roses for the season, the limited supply of bare-root plants is expected to be more widely available in future seasons. Future sales may potentially debut in 2026.
