Monastery Marienstern - Ecumenical House: A Spiritual Sanctuary for Diverse Faiths
Nestled in the southeastern region of the Bistum Magdeburg, directly on the Elbe, lies the tranquil village of Mühlberg, home to the 800-year-old Kloster Marienstern. With a complex and not always tranquil history, the monastery has seen a renewal since May 2000, when the Claretian Order took up residence. The monastery walls are gradually transforming into a sanctuary for solitude, encounters, and spiritual camaraderie. Supported by the Bonifatiuswerk Paderborn and numerous other contributors, the Ecumenical House of Encounter and Stillness was completed by 2011. Now, this small Catholic congregation shares this establishment with the Christian community of Mühlberg. The Ecumenical House is open to both individual guests and groups.
