Museum-based Family Celebration: Amusement and Exploration at Artistic Venues
On August 10, 2025, Museums Schloss Aschach is set to host a family festival filled with entertainment, learning, and a touch of fashion. The festival runs from 11 am to 5 pm.
Visitors can expect a variety of special attractions, including a photo station adorned with paper ties, skirts, vests, chains, and other accessories, allowing you to capture memories of the day in a castle setting. A clothing swap corner is also available, where you can bring items from home and potentially find a new favorite piece of clothing.
If you're feeling creative, you can paint fabric bags or stitch small animal pictures at designated creative stations. For those who enjoy puzzles, there's a challenge that guides children through the museums and special exhibition, with a small reward for those who answer all the questions correctly.
Families can test their skills with various play stations, such as hoop rolling, bowling, and stilts walking. For those interested in learning about the history of clothing and fashion, there will be family tours of the special exhibition "What should I wear? Franconia between trends and tradition." These tours take place at 11:30 am and 3 pm, and visitors are encouraged to touch various fabrics during the tour.
Two costume tours, led by "Carola Countess von Luxburg" and "Friedrich Count von Luxburg," will take place at 2 pm and 4 pm, offering insights into life at Schloss Aschach. A mood wall is also available for visitors to express their opinions on their own outfits.
The regular museum entrance fee applies for visiting the family festival. For more information, please visit www.museen-schloss-aschach.de.
While specific details about fashion-related activities at the festival are not yet confirmed, previous family festivals at cultural museums in Europe have included workshops on traditional costume making, exhibitions of historical or regional clothing, and dress-up opportunities in period costumes for children and families.
For accurate and up-to-date details, we recommend checking directly with Museums Schloss Aschach’s official communications or visitor information closer to the date.
