Nature Immersion - Arts School Schweina's Family Activity Day Scheduled for July 25th
**Experience Nature: A Family-Friendly Land Art Event at the Children's and Youth Art School Schweina**
On July 26, 2025, the Children's and Youth Art School Schweina invites families to join a unique and educational event titled "Experience Nature". This family action day aims to introduce children and adults to the captivating art form of Land Art.
Land Art, which emerged in the 1960s and 1970s, is a movement that emphasises creating large-scale, site-specific artworks using natural materials such as earth, rocks, sand, vegetation, and water. These artworks often interact with and respond to their natural surroundings, promoting themes like the environment, ephemerality, and the changing forces of nature.
During the event, participants will embark on a walk in nature together, collecting, sorting, and using leaves, sticks, stones, and other natural materials to create their own Land Art projects. An art therapist, Claudia Waitz, will accompany the group to guide and inspire creative expression.
The event will commence at 10:00 AM and conclude with a potluck snack, with drinks and fruit provided. Participants are asked to bring other snacks to share. The event will take place at the Children's and Youth Art School Schweina.
Registration for this fascinating day can be done by phone at 036961-730 508, or by email at [email protected]. The cost of participation is 15 euros per family.
By engaging in this hands-on, interactive experience, participants may gain a fresh perspective on future nature outings, as well as an appreciation for the diversity and aesthetics of nature. Furthermore, this event will foster environmental awareness and creativity, aligning with Land Art's core values.
