Nighttime Spectacle in Marburg - Illuminated Display During Evenings in Marburg

Marburg, Germany played host to a breathtaking light show during the tenth anniversary of 'Marburg b(u)y Night', as the historic Landgrafenschloss castle was creatively illuminated for the project 'Blickpunkt Schloss'. The event, which saw 60 structures and buildings in the town illuminated, was a memorable one, with the focus on the castle being particularly noteworthy.

The key to the success of the lighting design and execution of the 'Blickpunkt Schloss' project was the use of high-performance moving head lights from Clay Paky and the sophisticated lighting control technology from MA Lighting.

Clay Paky's Mythos fixtures, versatile moving heads combining spot, beam, and wash functionalities in one unit, were deployed in large numbers. They provided intense, focused beams to highlight the structural details, contours, and textures of the historic building at night, while their advanced color mixing and gobos enhanced the castle’s visual impact with vibrant color washes and patterns.

Meanwhile, MA Lighting supplied the lighting consoles and software to program and control the entire lighting setup. Their systems enabled precise synchronization of the lights, cues, and effects, allowing seamless transitions and choreographed lighting sequences. The industry-leading hardware and software also ensured reliable performance, making it easy for operators to manage the complex show settings for outdoor architectural lighting.

The intuitive control interface allowed designers and technicians to experiment with creative looks and adjust the lighting design in real time, ensuring a mesmerising visual experience for the audience.

Stefan Haffner, the lighting designer, programmer, and operator for the tenth anniversary of Marburg b(u)y night, appreciated the reliability and networking functionality of the MA VPU during the event. The MA VPU was used to play the show at various points in the town over a network, offering a unique audiovisual timecode show with musical accompaniment that offered views from three perspectives every half-hour.

The tenth anniversary of Marburg b(u)y night was a success, with the special show at Landgrafenschloss castle being a highlight. The combination of Clay Paky Mythos' powerful and creative illumination and MA Lighting's control technology ensured a professional, flexible, and flawless management of the entire lighting experience, highlighting the historic beauty of Marburg’s landmark in an innovative and captivating way.

Participants of Marburg b(u)y Night's tenth anniversary had the opportunity to enjoy an immersive event, with the Landgrafenschloss castle's transformation by the 'Blickpunkt Schloss' project serving as a notable highlight. To complement this outdoor display, the home-and-garden space of Landgrafenschloss castle was illuminated, offering an engaging blend of outdoor-living and lifestyle elements for attendees.
