Police Headquarters Munich Issues Overtime Duty Call for Federal Police Officer at Munich Central Station
In an unexpected incident at Munich Central Station on 31st August, a 61-year-old man caused a commotion by shouting and threatening a federal police officer. The incident occurred around 19:15 at the S-Bahn area of the station.
According to reports, the federal police officer, a 29-year-old officer on his way home, asked the man to stop shouting and leave the area. However, the man refused compliance, instead resisting and threatening the officer with his service weapon. The officer, along with several witnesses and a police officer from Police Inspectorate 13, managed to overpower the man on the ground.
The man was subsequently taken to a psychiatric clinic by the state police after the incident. It is worth noting that the man was already known to the police for previous property offenses.
The Bundespolizeiinspektion Munich, responsible for police danger prevention and criminal prosecution in the area of Deutsche Bahn facilities and the largest German S-Bahn network, is currently investigating the man for resisting law enforcement, bodily harm, and threats, including a threat on the officer's life.
The Bundespolizeiinspektion Munich's area of responsibility includes three of the four largest Bavarian train stations, namely Munich, Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Dachau, Ebersberg, Erding, Freising, Fürstenfeldbruck, Landsberg am Lech, and Starnberg. The station for the Bundespolizeiinspektion Munich is located at Denisstraße 1, about 500 meters on foot from the main station, at the East Station.
