The Coffee Party Comes to Lima's Pueblo Libre Neighborhood!

Pueblo Libre's Coffee Celebration: Events Happening This Friday and Saturday with No Entrance Fee

Mark your calendars, folks! This June 13th and 14th, the Pueblo Libre district will be hosting the first-ever Coffee Party in Lima, an international festival that's been making waves in cities across the US and Europe. And guess what? It's completely free for the public!

You can find this caffeinated extravaganza at the Paseo de los Vecinos Ilustres del Parque 03 de Octubre (Av. General Manuel Vivanco, block 5). The festivities will kick off at 3 p.m. both days and wrap up by 11 p.m., giving you plenty of time to savor the specialty coffees, live music, and cultural activities on offer.

The Roots of the Coffee Party

The Coffee Party was born as a social movement in the US, shaped by casual gatherings among coffee enthusiasts. Over time, these intimate celebrations morphed into public festivals, driven by the third wave of coffee movement, which seeks to revalue coffee from its origin and celebrate the work of producers, roasters, and baristas worldwide.

Now, these events are held in various capitals, blending tastings, workshops, art, music, and family-friendly activities. The Pueblo Libre edition aims to replicate this model, while tailoring it to the Peruvian context and emphasizing national coffee.

What the Coffee Party will offer

According to the municipality, the festival will feature:

  • A wide variety of coffees from Peruvian regions and beyond
  • Live music sessions, with performances by DJ Gian and Diego Alonso
  • Themed stands, where attendees can learn more about the coffee process and purchase related products
  • Recreational spaces and activities for the whole family

The event will also attract renowned coffee shops and local brands, such as Me Latte Café, Finca Grandez, Cordillera 27, Aera Café, Guanacoffee, Sakkura Maru Café, Gecko Café, Flor de Fuego, Hunters, and Fortunato. These shops will present a special selection of coffees and preparations, ranging from traditional methods to innovative options. Attendees can explore the diversity and richness of Peruvian coffee and even enjoy some alcohol-based preparations, as well as sweet and savory snacks.

Highlighting Peru's Coffee Culture

The festival will also serve as a platform to showcase the quality of Peruvian coffee, considered one of the best in the world. With over 200,000 families dedicated to coffee production, and crops in regions such as Cajamarca, Junín, San Martín, and Cusco, Peru exports coffee to more than 40 international destinations.

In recent years, Peruvian specialty coffee has gained ground in both local and international markets, with its aromatic profile, fruity notes, and sustainable cultivation at high altitudes being valued.

As more Peruvian consumers seek to know the origin of their coffee, preparation techniques, and the stories behind each cup, events like the Coffee Party contribute to reinforcing this trend and generating a more direct link between urban consumers and small coffee producers in Peruvian coffee-growing regions.

So, get ready to dive into the world of coffee, music, and culture! The Coffee Party in Pueblo Libre is calling your name. Don't miss out on this unique experience!

As the Coffee Party journeys to Pueblo Libre's neighborhood, attendees can anticipate a fusion of Peruvian lifestyle, food-and-drink, home-and-garden, and weather delights. Explore a wide array of Peruvian coffees, accompanied by live music performances, themed stands for learning about the coffee process, and recreational spaces for family fun.

The festival aims to not only celebrate coffee but also to highlight the quality and rich origins of Peruvian coffee, showcasing the very best of this popular beverage amidst the backdrop of local brands and renowned coffee shops.
