Railways in Lübeck Exploration: Insights
On Saturday, September 20, 2025, Nordic Rail Service GmbH (NRS) in Lübeck-St. Lorenz Nord will be hosting the fourth edition of the "Day of the Rails" event. This exciting day, filled with railway films, historical exhibits, and interactive activities, provides a unique opportunity to delve into the history and development of railways.
The event takes place behind the Gollan Kulturwerft, on the premises of Nordic Rail Service GmbH, from 9 am to 6 pm. Visitors can explore a large exhibition of locomotives, two-way Unimogs, vintage cars, and detailed H0 scale models.
A highlight of the event is the big special train ride to Hamburg with the legendary V200 locomotive and original Reichsbahn travel coaches. At 3 pm, the new Piko model of the V200 will be officially launched, with its "big sister" on display live at the event.
Children will enjoy a fun-filled day as well, with a free bouncy castle and a small train ride. An interactive way for children to learn about rail vehicles is also available.
Food and drinks are available for visitors, with a grill stand, a drinks cart, and a waffle stand present. Parking is also available at the event location.
