Redesigned shopping adventure at Lidl: revamping of stores
In a bid to enhance the shopping experience for its customers, Lidl has rolled out a new store design, featuring several notable changes.
Starting at the entrance, the fruit department in the new stores boasts a fresh look with shelves in wood optics, making it more inviting and appealing. The top row of refrigerated and frozen food cabinets now sport labels that are tilted forward for easier reading, ensuring customers can quickly find what they need.
To make price visibility a breeze, all areas in the stores now use fully automatic labels. This innovative feature not only simplifies the shopping experience but also ensures that prices are always accurate and up-to-date.
Lidl's commitment to freshness has once again been recognised, as the retailer was awarded the Retail Award for freshness in the fruit and vegetable department for the 8th time in September 2024. This accolade is a testament to Lidl's dedication to providing high-quality produce.
Promotional items in the fruit department and throughout the store are presented with eye-catching colours on the top gondolas, making them hard to miss. Meanwhile, promotional frozen and dairy products are arranged in specially marked refrigerated cabinets in blocks, making it easier for customers to find great deals.
For a more comfortable shopping experience, Lidl has introduced a customer restroom equipped with a changing table. Additionally, a spacious shopping cart with a large cooler is available in the stores, perfect for those shopping for fresh produce or frozen items.
The new design of the stores includes a brighter and more modern sales area, creating a more enjoyable shopping environment. Lidl is also testing a pure non-food branch, Lidl Home & Living, to better present its own brands in this segment.
In line with its commitment to sustainability, Lidl is introducing innovations such as packaging made from Silphie fibres, a sustainable, compostable material derived from a fast-growing energy plant. This move is part of Lidl's efforts to reduce plastic use and promote circular economy practices, as demonstrated in Lidl Switzerland with bio-tomatoes packaging.
These changes and innovations are a testament to Lidl's continuous efforts to improve the shopping experience for its customers while maintaining its commitment to sustainability.
