Kitesbridge Farm, Once Owned by Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, Up for Sale

After a brief stint as their residence, Kitesbridge Farm, a historic 43-acre estate in the heart of the Cotswolds, is back on the market. The couple, known for their penchant for house flipping, purchased the property last year for £15 million and spent months and many millions transforming it further.

Located near the picturesque village of Asthall and within easy reach of Soho Farmhouse, Estelle Manor, and other Oxfordshire highlights, Kitesbridge Farm boasts a 16,000-square-foot main residence and additional luxury outbuildings. The house, centrally located within its 43 acres, is loosely arranged as an L shape and features a central courtyard garden.

The decoration and furniture throughout the house are elegant, simple, and neutral, with alternating flooring of stone slabs and ancient timber, and exposed beams and brickwork. Some rooms, such as a green boot room, feature floral wallpaper on walls and ceilings, adding a touch of charm to the space.

The kitchen-diner, a significant space in the house, is equipped with a large TV. The house also includes a fully-equipped gym, a pool, and a potential helicopter hangar that could be converted into a padel court. There is a party barn with its own pub above a heated five-car garage, making it perfect for entertaining guests.

The gardens at Kitesbridge Farm have been landscaped to maintain a natural and organic feel, with a kitchen garden, lawns, paddocks, and various outdoor spaces for al fresco dining and living. The beautiful location of Kitesbridge Farm moved poet John Betjeman to write about it.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have a reputation for 'flipping houses', having reportedly done so as many as 50 times. They bought Kitesbridge Farm in June 2024, but quickly realized their expanding needs required a different property, mainly to provide horse facilities and more space. This prompted their decision to put Kitesbridge Farm back on the market at an asking price of about $30 million in mid-2025.

The farm is now being marketed for significantly more than it was bought for, leading to speculation about the value added in a few months. Nonetheless, Kitesbridge Farm remains an impressive property that offers a secluded rural retreat in the heart of the Cotswolds.

With their reputation for house flipping and investing in real estate, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi purchased Kitesbridge Farm for £15 million in 2024. Despite spending months and millions on its transformation, they decided to sell it in 2025 for an asking price of about $30 million, showcasing their knack for financing substantial property investments and lifestyle upgrades, beyond mere home-and-garden renovations.
