Sara Palmieri Named New Executive Director of Burlington Performing Arts Centre

Sara Palmieri has taken the helm as the new Executive Director of the Burlington Performing Arts Centre (BPAC) since February 18, 2025. She succeeds Tammy Fox, who departed unexpectedly. Palmieri brings over two decades of experience in the performing arts, with a focus on engaging local talent and involving the community in performances.

Palmieri's journey in the arts began in 2003 at the Centre for the Arts, Brock University, where she served as a media and communications assistant. She then moved to the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre in St. Catharines, where she was the inaugural Director of Programming & Marketing from 2015 to 2025. Before joining BPAC, Palmieri led the Hamilton Burlington Chamber of Commerce as its Executive Director from January 2020 to the end of January 2025.

BPAC, celebrating its 15th anniversary in the 2025-2026 season, offers two stages for performances: the Main Theatre, which can seat over 725 people, and the Community Theatre, with a capacity of 100. In addition to these spaces, the centre boasts a large open area with a cash bar, accommodating up to 250 guests.

Under Palmieri's leadership, BPAC looks forward to a vibrant season filled with diverse performances, celebrating local talent, and engaging the community. With her extensive experience and passion for the arts, Palmieri is poised to make a significant impact on the centre's 15th anniversary and beyond.
