The Lost and Found Office of the City of Augsburg is here to help you recover your lost items. From keys and mobile devices to bicycles, the office collects found items from various locations, including citizen's offices, the police, public transport, and the lost and found office itself.
When picking up certain items, such as keys or mobile devices, additional proof of ownership is required. For mobile phones, tablets, or similar devices, please bring the 15-digit IMEI number (serial number) as proof of ownership. If picking up keys, please bring a comparison key to verify the key number/key bit.
If you have lost an item, you can pick it up at the Lost and Found Office. The Lost and Found Office will contact you after receiving the loss report, and they may use the identifying features of a lost item to inform the loser directly. If your lost item has names, addresses, or distinctive marks, the loser will be directly informed by the Lost and Found Office or the responsible authority.
Found items, such as wallets, documents, and items with addresses, will not be published online. However, found items can be viewed online, and found bicycles will not be published online either. Insignificant finds under a value of 10 € will not be published online.
The Lost and Found Office regularly auctions off unclaimed found items and bicycles. The current auction dates can be found on the official City of Augsburg website.
