In a significant development for the city of Erfurt, Asian supermarket chain GoAsia has announced plans to open its first store in Thuringia. The new branch will be located in the city centre at Anger 30, a space that has been vacant for months.

GoAsia, which currently operates over 63 branches throughout Germany, has stated that it employs over 800 people. The Erfurt branch will be the first in the region, marking an expansion for the supermarket chain.

The sales area for the Erfurt branch will be approximately 670 square metres. The supermarket chain, known for offering a variety of items including staple foods, decorative items, kitchen utensils, instant meals, Asian sweets, and more, is currently seeking part-time and full-time cashiers for the new location.

The opening was initially expected in the fall, according to a press release from June. However, no specific date has been announced as of yet. The company's website, as of July 10, states that the opening is planned for 2025.

The landlords of the property are two private investors. The search results do not provide any information about the expected opening date for the GoAsia supermarket in Erfurt's city centre.

The persistent vacancy at Anger 30 has been a topic of discussion in the city, with signs for a potential new restaurant being taken down again, leaving many wondering about the future of the corner store. The opening of the GoAsia branch is a welcome change for the community, offering a diverse range of Asian products.

GoAsia currently operates stores in Dresden, Leipzig, and Halle, but not in Thuringia until now. The supermarket chain's first store was opened in Berlin-Charlottenburg in 2009. The opening of the GoAsia branch in Erfurt marks a significant step in the chain's expansion in Germany.

As the opening date approaches, the community eagerly awaits the arrival of GoAsia, bringing a taste of Asia right to the heart of Erfurt.

Shopping for home-and-garden decor or seeking deals-and-discounts on Asian products will soon be more accessible in Erfurt, as GoAsia, a well-known supermarket chain, expands its lifestyle offerings with the opening of its first store in Thuringia. Located in the city centre at Anger 30, GoAsia's new branch is expected to provide a diverse range of Asian products for part-time and full-time shoppers.
