Sunday Procession of Sebastian of 1316 Grand Display Along Reiterallee in Düsseldorf
Join us for a day of tradition and celebration as we witness the equestrian parade at the St. Sebastianus Schützen 1316 festivities in Düsseldorf's Hofgarten on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
The day's schedule is as follows:
- 9:30 AM: A festive church service at the Basilica St. Lambertus.
- 3:00 PM: The historical parade begins at Cecilienallee and winds through the city streets.
- 4:15 PM: The grand equestrian parade takes place on Reiterallee in the Hofgarten.
This impressive spectacle will feature 29 societies, 19 music bands, and magnificent carriages, all marching to honour the reigning royalty and distinguished guests. The Hofgarten serves as a verdant, festive backdrop for this event.
The equestrian parade is the highlight of the afternoon, showcasing traditionally uniformed groups, military bands, and centuries-old customs, all tied to the St. Sebastianus Schützenverein Düsseldorf 1316 e.V. celebration and the Rheinkirmes event.
For those wishing to watch the parade in comfort, seats at the numbered tribune along the Reiterallee have been provided, offering shade and commentary during the parade. Tickets for the tribune cost 15 euros and can be purchased from Thorsten Jansen at [email protected] or by ringing the bell at Rossstraße 96, "Sebastianus Schützen 1316" (office open Friday until 2 pm).
The parade concludes with a presentation in the Hofgarten, featuring all flags and flower horns. This is a sight not to be missed!
In addition to the parade, the St. Sebastianus Schützen's festivities include earlier shooting events, a grand procession on the previous day, and various concerts and festivities located at the Rheinkniebrücke festival tent and other Hofgarten venues.
