Tafel Kempen Opens New Food Bank at Am Selder 7
Tafel Kempen has opened its new food bank location at Am Selder 7, offering a larger space for news distribution and storage. The new site, which took over a year to prepare due to safety regulations, is open five days a week, with new registrations accepted on Wednesdays from 9 to 10 am.
The new location spans 500 square meters, accommodating news distribution, storage, and office rooms. It serves around 150 people weekly, with an estimated total of 600 to 700 members.
Tafel Kempen accepts non-perishable food, winter clothing, household items, hygiene products, and financial news. They are particularly in need of volunteer helpers for sorting and distributing news, as well as drivers with a valid license and physical fitness. The opening on 7 October 2025 marks a significant expansion of their news services, which also include a clothing chamber and social help.
The new food bank location at Am Selder 7 is open Monday to Friday, providing essential support to the community. Tafel Kempen welcomes donations of goods and money, as well as volunteers to help with news distribution and driving duties. The successful opening was made possible by the hard work of volunteers and a group from Ukraine, who assisted in preparing the new site.
