Tending to personal garden for vegetable cultivation, City Park's natural herbs harvest, and urban excursions around the park.
The city of Gütersloh is gearing up for the return of the popular "Living Gardens" event series, taking place at the VHS building and Hohenzollernstraße 43. This annual event, now in its eleventh edition, is open to both seasoned garden enthusiasts and beginners alike.
From September 2025, the city will host a series of 15 practical and diverse events, all focused on sustainability and gardening. The events aim to provide necessary information about vegetable cultivation, garden design, modern and nature-friendly garden design, and wild herb cuisine.
Highlights of the event series include a lecture by garden architect Tanja Minardo on "The Garden in Climate Change" on October 8, 2025. Dr. Heidi Lorey will also be present, offering tips on growing winter vegetables on September 25, 2025.
For those interested in a more hands-on approach, garden planner Daniela Toman will lead a tour through the city park and the botanical garden on September 19, 2025.
Registrations for individual events can be made online, by phone, or via email. The event details, individual event registrations, and brochure can be found on the Volkshochschule Gütersloh website at www.vhs-gt.de.
